JUDITH KINDLER / THE COLLECTIONS
Kindler is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, photography-based mixed media work incorporating encaustic in both 2 and 3-dimensional formats, as well as working in video. She works on a body of work anywhere from 1 to 3 years within the parameters of an idea or concept which she explores both conceptually and creatively, and then will move on to a new body.
Each collection reveals the conscious and unconscious thoughts of the artist typically in response to current or past events that have impacted her life on a personal level, or as she interprets the greater impact to the overall social community. Through an implied narrative, the artist explores both the psychological and physical reactions to and experiences of life. She sees the figures used in her art as a transparent expression, idea, or emotion, not as a defined particular individual.
Presented here are works from 2002 to the present. For additional information on individual collections visit the exhibitions page above and/or click on the images below to view work from the collection.
